Rory Pattisson

Posted by Cowry Authors on Feb 1, 2023 3:10:12 PM

Behavioural Designer

Rory studied at Durham University, completing a Bachelors in Philosophy and Psychology, progressing to a Masters in Behavioural Science. During this time, he explored personal interests through writing a dissertation on investor reactions to misleading sustainability marketing, finding that consumers include environmental concerns when making decisions to invest.

Owing to his background in Philosophy, Rory is curious about the ethical dimension of behavioural science. He aspires to incorporate this into his work at Cowry, assessing interventions through both a practical and moral lens.

Rory specialises in design, combining aesthetic and behavioural science principles to produce interventions that are evidenced, ethical and visually appealing.

Jadin Meurer

Behavioural Designer

Jadin holds a MSc in Behavioural Economics from City, University of London. During her time at university, she learned about the behavioural concepts that underpin and drive economic decision-making.

Her previous academic endeavours and work experience prompted her interest in behavioural science. After completing her bachelor’s degree in the sciences and working in the marketing sector for three years, she knew she wanted to merge her passions by working at the intersection of psychology and business. At this junction, she enjoys using her scientific background to understand methodologically complex processes prevalent in psychology and cognitive science research. She is also fond of using her creative expertise to incorporate behaviourally informed design concepts into digital products, campaigns and strategic planning efforts.

At Cowry, she is excited about using her skillset to translate academic research to actionable solutions for a variety of corporate organisations.

Jennifer Gezhen

Posted by Cowry Authors on Nov 15, 2022 12:04:34 PM

Senior Behavioural Architect

Jennifer completed her undergraduate degree in Economics at UCL. Having doubts about the fundamental assumption in Economics that all humans are rational, she pursued a Master’s degree in Behavioural Science at LSE to truly understand the reasons behind human behaviour. Before joining Cowry, Jennifer had two years of experience in the financial industry assisting with audits of two global banks.

Jennifer has a particular interest in making a tangible impact using Behavioural Science. In her Master’s dissertation, she designed, implemented, and analysed online randomised control trials to test the effectiveness of a 65-second vlog in preventing workplace violence (WPV) in the Chinese healthcare sector.

Jennifer is passionate about applying Behavioural Science and incorporating more cultural context into this field.

Hannah Bateson

Posted by Cowry Authors on Oct 11, 2022 2:56:04 PM

Behavioural Architect

Hannah recently completed a BSc in Psychological and Behavioural Science at the LSE. Here, she specialised in understanding how trust in the messengers of information is pivotal to the success of all behaviour change strategies. Motivated to contribute towards both global health and sustainability policies, she decided to pursue a dissertation on this topic, navigating the contextual dependencies of messenger effects among minority populations with regard to the UK’s COVID-19 vaccine campaign.

Alongside observing behaviour change, Hannah firmly believes in the value of evaluating the efficacy of behavioural interventions from an ethical standpoint. She enjoys discussing ethics and seeks to uncover the intersection between philosophical and scientific literature to negotiate its nuanced application to behavioural science used in the private sector context.

At Cowry, Hannah is eager to translate these interests in bridging the gap between paper and practice to drive behaviour change meaningfully, and ethically, to improve people’s everyday experiences.
